He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new NAME written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it. Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the NAME of my God, and the NAME of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new NAME. Revelations 2:17,3:12
I hope you are having a blessed day and week thus far!
2nd to last week in January 2018, the world is getting older, and so are we. I think to myself what am I doing to better this world and the darkness within it? One is this blog and creating a space of light in the dark depths of the web. I am committing to blog one per week and more if God leads!
God is leading us to write introductory blogs to lay a foundation for the website and for everyone to get to know our family more.
If you attended our wedding ceremony back in August 2016, you will notice our legal surname on our wedding program. On our Save-The-Dates as well as our invitation we used the last name we go by now, which is the name of our website, as well as all correspondence online and offline except from any legal entities.
Just like many names God gives to His children through His Word, we believe He led us to change our surname to honour our late father.
Our father, Daddy James is late, this being my late father-in love. To pay special homage to him and the life he lived dedicated to his family, education as a PhD holder and professor, as well as a pastor of his home disciplining and instructing his family towards the cross of Jesus Christ, we added his first name to our surname. We are grateful for the life he displayed and the wisdom he instilled in his children, including my husband David.
That explains why we go by Momoh-Jamesy vs our government surname.
When you come to know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour He gives you a host of new names. He will name you Peace like we did our daughter, a name signifying a change of life, like Paul whom was Saul in the bible, or even compelling you to name yourself Grace because of the grace and mercy He has shown you! The possibilities are endless.
For those that already have the Spirit of God, be sensitive to the Holy Spirit, God might drop a name He wants you to be called by.
Names follow you everywhere you go and is the first of which you are addressed by. Some birth given names can carry bad meaning as well. You do not have to keep it. Ask God for a new name whether you change it legally or not, He will recognize you as that name!
I look forward to your new name, ordained by God!
Has God already given you a NEW name? If so please share below!
